I got to do a wedding
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity. A daughter of a dear friend asked me to be the officiant at her wedding. I'd never done that before. So I did the googling and checking out and managed to get my license to marry them. It was only good for one day, mind you. Not going to be touring around the county offering my services.
I spent some time with the couple and truly enjoyed working with them. I also had to work on the message which took a lot of time. I wanted to make it meaningful and make it applicable.
I felt very honoured to do this. It was a lot of fun and challenging and I enjoyed myself very much. I had to do the whole service which was a lot to keep in mind. Funny how when you watch someone who does this regularly, they make it look so easy. Thankfully I had my trusty iPad and I could put everything on it.
Like I said, I had a few moments of concern - hoping it was all legal and so on. Anyway, it was enjoyable and I felt honoured to be a part of this amazing day.
And, because I'm a writer, It's. All. Research. Maybe, someday, one of my characters will have the same job. Stay tuned.
