Where did the time go?

Greetings to all. The snow has finally come. And the temperatures have dropped. It's officially winter here in the Great White North. I know technically we don't get the first day of winter for awhile, but when there's eight inches of snow on the ground, to me it screams winter. Not that snow screams. It's actually quiet and makes for a cozy feeling - when I'm on the inside of the house looking out that is. Driving in the snow, well that's a different situation.

I'm always thankful I can do my writing from home with a cup of tea beside me and music playing in the background.

The time seems to slip by and I'm happy.

I'm currently working on a new series of books. The first one is out, the second on pre-order, I'm writing the third and I have outlined the last three. I've decided to give you a sneak peek at all the covers at once so you will know what to expect when. I'm writing slower these days because I don't wnt writing to be a burden, so the books won't be coming out as quickly as they used to. But I want to assure you, I have the stories all planned and each character represented on the cover will be getting their own story. All in good time.

And speaking of time, we are having a bit of a problem at our place. I'll show you.

This is the chimney from our woodburning stove. The stove is downstairs and the chimney goes up through the main floor and then out through the roof. This chimney is in center of the main part of our main floor which has an open plan.

So what about this chimney? Well, you won't know this unless you look really close. But there is a gold hook clipped to the one brick. That gold hook usually holds a clock. That clock stopped working and has been taken down until we can fix it.

Now you may be wondering why I'm going on about the chimney and the clock and it has nothing to do with Daylight Savings Time.

It has everything to do with habits. The clock has been down for a week but I am constantly glancing over at the bare chimney when I'm sitting in 'my chair' and need to know if I should start supper, get to my appointment, go to bed, have a nap. I look over at the bare chimney when I get up in the morning and before I go to bed at night. I have a digital clock on my microwave, on my stove and a clock on my wrist. But this clock has been keeping time for us in whichever house we have lived as long as we have been married. I have never realized how often I looked over at the clock hanging on the chimney until it wasn't there anymore.

Such an ingrained habit.

what about you? Do you have a 'main clock'? And do you prefer the old fashioned clock face or digital?

In the technology woes department, my computer is finally fixed. I was grumpy for awhile because somehow, in the process, I lost some files. i poked through every iteration of the document and then realized I would simply have to re-write the scenes I had lost.

And then, suddenly, I opened one of the files one last time before I got to the scenes I had to re-write and boom. There it was. The file with the missing scenes. I still have no idea how it happened. But I was happy. Still am.

I hope this finds you well. Blessings to you and take care.
